SellYourZari ("we", "us") helps customers in India sell their old zari sarees, dhothis and other zari textiles. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you browse our website. The website does not ask you to create an account or fill in personal details. Our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver and secure the website. We store your chosen language in a cookie so the website opens in that language next time.
When you contact us. When you continue to WhatsApp or call us, we receive the information you share, which may include:
- your name and phone number;
- the items you would like to sell, including photos and descriptions;
- your pickup address;
- your payment details, such as a UPI ID or bank account, once we are ready to pay you.
When we handle your case. We keep a record of each selling request, including the estimate, pickup, item verification, the eligible amount and payment, along with which member of our team took each step.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- respond to your enquiry and share an estimate;
- arrange the doorstep courier pickup of your items;
- verify your items and pay you the eligible amount;
- keep accurate records of each case, and resolve questions or disputes about it;
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
- prevent fraud and keep our services secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers we need to run our service, and only as much as each of them needs:
- WhatsApp (Meta), when you message us;
- courier partners, who receive your name, phone number and pickup address to collect your items;
- payment providers and banks, to send your payment;
- cloud hosting providers, such as Cloudflare, which host our website and securely store our records.
We may also disclose information when the law requires us to, or to protect our rights and the safety of our customers and staff.
How long we keep it
We keep case records for as long as we need them to complete your request, answer questions about it, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. After that, we delete or anonymise them.
How we protect it
Only authenticated members of our team can access case records, and every action they take on a case is recorded. Our systems use encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct or update it;
- erase it, where we are not required to keep it;
- withdraw consent you have given us.
You may also raise a grievance with us about how we handle your information. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our service is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
